Where are you situated?
  • We are situated in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, on the Midlands Meander.

What is the price of the venue hire?
  • R27 700.
    • For 2020 – 2022.
What are the payment terms, and what is the securing deposit?
  • We require a 35% deposit to secure the wedding date.
  • The remaining amount is required two weeks prior to the wedding (There is also a R4500 breakages deposit required at this stage, which is refundable after the wedding – less anything that is broken/damaged during the stay).
What is your cancellation policy?
  • Cancellation Policy – If cancelled 0 to 12 Weeks before the wedding date: 100% of the deposit paid will be charged. If cancelled 13 Weeks (or more) before the wedding date: 50% of the deposit paid will be charged.
  • If Social Gatherings are not allowed on your Wedding Date due to Covid-19 – we do allow you to shift your Wedding Date out to a later Date without penalty. If full cancellation, the cancellation policy above will still be in place.
Are there any other costs?
  • Heating consumables.
    • 6 Umbrella heaters – R550 each if needed/wanted.
    • 2 Large fire-places (The Gallery) – R280 per fireplace if needed/wanted.

What are the maximum guest numbers allowed?
  • Our venue caters for up to 160 guests.
    • The Piazza can seat up to 160 guests for the Reception.
    • The Gallery can seat up to 120 guests for the Reception.
      • Whichever venue is not used will become a satellite space for the dance floor, cocktail tables and buffet (if needed).
How far in advance do you accept wedding bookings?
  • We allow bookings two years in advance.

Do you offer different rates on weekdays or seasons?
  • We do not offer seasonal or weekday rates.
What accommodation do you have on site?
  • We have 8 rooms available on site for the bridal party.
    • Four in the Manor House.
    • Two in the Dam Cottage.
    • Two in the Stable Cottage. (The one room is a double bunk bed with premium mattresses and wooden frame).

  • Accommodation does need to be paid in full at least two weeks prior to the wedding. You can settle this yourselves, or we can bill your guests directly for self payment.

Do we have exclusive use of the property?
  • Yes, the day before, the day of, and morning after your wedding are booked off for your use only.
Is the bridal suite free?
  • If 6 of the 8 rooms on the property are taken for two nights, we do provide the bridal couple with their room free of charge on the wedding night.
Does the venue fee include food/catering?
  • No it does not, we allow external catering (we don’t do in-house catering)

Do you have kitchen facilities for the caterer?
  • A large empty room 8x6m is provided to the caterer. They will be required to bring in all equipment and surfaces needed to deliver their food.
    • They must cook/heat off of gas. Electrical devices will not be allowed incase they trip the power during your wedding.
    • If you are doing a buffet please make sure the caterer also provides the chafing dishes and utensils to serve from them. This is a good crosscheck.
    • Caterers are not allowed to cook through the night before the wedding day. The venue gets locked up at 17h00 the day before the wedding with suppliers returning the morning of the wedding from 08h00.

Do you provide waiters?
  • Waiters must be provided by the caterer. We do have waiter service recommendations should you need  them. A reminder that waiters are also needed for buffets for clearing of plates and glassware.
Can we organise a tea and coffee station?
  • If you would like a tea and coffee station please liaise with your caterers of choice to organise this. They will monitor this throughout the day.
  • We do supply tea cups, saucers and teaspoons, as well as a table.
Are you able to provide the bridal party with food prior to the wedding?
  • We can do platters for the bridal party as a late morning snack before the wedding formalities. Options will be provided.
Do you allow external suppliers? Do you supply any other service other then venue hire?
  • We do not provide any supplementary wedding services (with exception to the bar service which is included in the rate).
What other suppliers are typically required?
  • The following suppliers are typically required:
    • Catering & Waiters.
    • Decor.
    • Cake.
    • DJ.
    • Marriage Officer.
    • Photographer.
What time does the venue open and what is the “cut-off” time?
  • The venue opens at 08h00 on the morning of the wedding, and closes at midnight.
    • We can continue until 02h00, however there is a surcharge of R1500 per hour after 00h00 for staff overtime.
When can decor/suppliers begin setting up?
  • The venue will be available to suppliers the day before the wedding from 08h00 to 17h00, and the morning of the wedding from 08h00.
When can suppliers move out?
  • The day after the wedding is reserved for removing all items. If this falls on a Sunday or Public Holiday, suppliers are welcome to come collect the next working day.
Do you provide a wedding coordinator?

We have a manager on site that looks after all of the wedding venue’s responsibilities. Should you want someone to assist you on the day with time keeping for the wedding party and other suppliers – we do advise hiring a wedding coordinator.

Do you allow alcohol to be brought in by the Bridal Party/ Wedding Guests? Corkage Fees?
  • We only allow wines and champagne to be brought in, however there is a corkage fee. You will provide us with the wine and we will chill and serve it. On departure we will count how many bottles have been opened and charge accordingly:
    • R50 per Wine Bottle.
    • R35 per Local Sparkling Wine Bottle.
    • R125 per International Champagne Bottle.

Can we run a bar tab at the bar?
  • The bar can be run on a tab or we can accept direct payments from your guests.
  • If you decide on a tab we will run up to an agreed amount which we will agree upon closer to the wedding – on the day we will notify you once this limit has been reached.
  • We can also do a hybrid bar, where everything is on tab except for spirits and shooters which can be paid for by cash or card by your guests.
Do you accept credit cards at the bar?
  • Yes we do accept credit cards.

  • Yes we do accept cash payments.
Do you have a sound system?
  • We do not have a sound system. This will need to be brought in by your chosen DJ, which is a standard procedure (they use their own equipment).
Do you allow traditional Hindu ceremonies?
  • Yes we do.
Is there a generator?
  • Yes we do have a backup generator that powers the entire property.
Do you provide and setup road signage?
  • Yes, we place road signage from the main road directing guests to the venue parking.
Are wedding guests allowed in the Manor House?
  • Wedding guests are not allowed in the Manor House. There is a separate entrance and parking for wedding guests, which provides access to the wedding venue/s.
